Summer activities

Châtel has become an ideal destination for both summer and winter holidays.

Beautiful scenery, mountain air and early summer flowers are perfect reasons for a Châtel summer holiday.

We are part of the MultiPass scheme which runs in the summer months and provides great offers on many local attractions.

Several of the chairlifts remain open in the summer allowing easy access to the mountains where there are many well marked cycling and walking trails.

Mountain bikes can be hired from a local hire shop near to the chalet – Vertical Horizons.

Local festivals are held in the mountains and the village, many related to their agricultural origins.

One of the best is ‘La Belle Dimanche’ held at Plaine Dranse one Sunday in August.

The tourist board arrange many activities including regular open air concerts and entertainment on the town square.

The local lake – Lac de Vonnes, situated near the Swiss border, provides opportunities for walking, fishing and boating.
